The Experienced RiderCourse (ERC) is for riders who can already handle a motorcycle and want the endorsement, or want a full day of coached practice on their own bike. Successful completion waives both the written and the riding test at the Colorado DMV.
About this course
The Experienced RiderCourse (ERC) is for riders who can already handle a motorcycle and want the endorsement, or want a full day of coached practice on their own bike. Successful completion waives both the written and the riding test at the Colorado DMV.
What You Need to Know:
- Online classroom (about four hours)
- About six hours of riding time in one day
Complete the online portion before you arrive and bring the certificate to class; complete it no more than 30 days before your riding day. The day ends with a written test and a riding evaluation.
You ride your own street-legal motorcycle so the day teaches you the bike you actually ride: accelerating, braking, leaning and slow-speed control. Bring proof of insurance and current registration.
Pass both tests and you receive a completion card to take to the DMV within 180 days for your endorsement.

Basic riding skills (able to ride a straight-line and offset weave) and a valid driver's license or permit.

Bike requirements
Bring a road-legal motorcycle you are comfortable handling, with current registration and proof of insurance. Coaches check both at the range before you ride.
Rescheduling and cancellations
Plans change. You can move your own booking online using the order number in your confirmation email, up to the cutoff shown at checkout. Inside that window, call the office and we will sort it out with you. Cancellation and late-reschedule fees are set out in our enrollment policy.
